Static IP’s can be purchased and assigned by the service carrier. The device will then need to be set to use the new APN. Once you have obtained a static IP, please follow the steps below for configuration:

1. Connect to the router.
2. Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.8.1
3. The username is root and the password is on the bottom of the router.
4. Once on the dashboard, in the Verizon group, choose Manual Setup.
5. Change the APN value to the required static APN (should be in the form xx01.vzwstatic. This is based on region, so it is different based on location of customer. Your Verizon rep should have provided this information as well.)
6. Click Apply.

There are 2 ways to change your wifi password. You can log into the goodcloud instance and on the first page select the modify button under the 2.4G WiFi status widget and change it there or you can log into the unit directly using either ethernet or WiFi and direct a browser to 192.168.8.1 and using the login root with the password printed on the bottom of your unit. Once logged in you will need to click on the wireless tab on the left and then click the modify button in the middle. Alter the Wi-Fi Key setting with your new password then hit apply.

IP Passthrough is also sometimes referred to as bridge mode. This turns the router into a device capable of passing the connection through to another device to handle the main routing for your internal network. To enable IP passthrough:

  1. Connect to the LAN port of your m106.
  2. Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.8.1
  3. Enter the username root and the password shown on the bottom of the router.
  4. On the side navigation menu, choose More Settings > Network Mode.
  5. Choose Passthrough then Next.
  6. Choose auto subnet mode and Apply the changes.
  7. To put your m106 back into standard router mode, press and hold the reset button  for 15 seconds to revert back to factory settings.

Placement can be key in receiving a decent signal with minimal interference. Best practices are closer to external walls of the building and or near windows. Try to stay away from sources of interference like microwaves and florescent lights and heavy electrical devices. If necessary, an external antenna can be added to reach other areas able to find a cleaner signal. A site survey can also go a long way to remediating any signal issues you may be experiencing.
